Music festivals are spaces of liberation, where energy, connection, and self-expression collide. The Kappa FuturFestival, held each July in Turin’s post-industrial Parco Dora, is Italy’s largest electronic and techno music festival and one of the most acclaimed worldwide. With over 120,000 attendees from more than 150 countries, it transforms the city into a vibrant epicenter of global dance culture.
Amid this kinetic environment, Elia found a powerful visual playground, an atmosphere pulsing with rhythm, emotion, and human presence. The series was captured entirely using two disposable analog cameras, deliberately chosen for their spontaneity and limitations which suited the raw energy of the festival.
At its core, the project is a tribute to the extraordinary people Elia encountered during the three-day festival. Each image captures a fleeting moment, transformed into a lasting memory. The result is an intimate and unfiltered portrayal of a collective experience shaped by shared emotion, in a world momentarily liberated by music.
